Organic.

Finally, my Organic project. I found this project both challenging and fulfilling as I was encouraged to try new methods and push my skills further.
My inspiration came from the human body and how women show their femininity.

The above image is a piece of art I found in Vice magazine. I love the playful yet provocative portrayal of sex within an upper class series of scenarios.

Above shows my contextual inspiration. I wanted to create a contemporary and minimal design but without the room looking too bare.

Above are images of scans. I associated these with oil patterns and attempted to recreate it with the use of marble inks.

I became obsessed with lace. It's a material that I think exudes femininity and so spent days attempting to draw new lace patterns to fit in with the female form. Unfortunately I decided against using it in my final designs as I felt it made the overall design too busy.

Above I tested different compositions for the final design, looking for the right balance of negative and positive space.

The finished design! My choice of colour palette was to make the design unisex as well as calming, and something which you would want to lie under.

I am pleased with the end result and feel that I have managed to make a design which would appeal to the mass market without losing my style. One thing which is important to me is that when people see my work, they know that it is my work.
